Some very tasty synths in this. I love your work, as usual!

I love the feel of this one. I wish I could hear each part more (it's totally mono?) but the ideas are cool and I love the dissonance.

HighBallers responds:

im gonna totally redo this song with some new plug-ins and see if I can bring this song more to life.

Hey this isn't bad man. Sure, it needs a good mix and frequencies are clashing but it sounds good and creates a good atmosphere.

If you want some advice, try mixing your track and then put the master in mono. Now listen again and take out the frequencies from instruments that are clashing.
For example, guitar and bass, solo'd in mono - let's imagine they're clashing from 100hz to 300hz. The bass needs 100hz more than the guitar so cut it out of the guitar (high pass at 150hz or something) but the guitar needs 300hz more than bass so cut that part away form the bass (a few db is enough). You mix should sound clear in mono if you want it to sound amazing in stereo.

HighBallers responds:

Thanks for the review and advice dude! Shit I've never thought about a mono test. I'm gonna do this for sure.

Ahhh this got me so pumped. mixed very loudly, you might benefit from turning it down to regain some clarity a little but other than that it was so cool. I loved the melodies especially and how the guitar played with the drums at times.

Metaljonus responds:

Glad you got pumped up! And it's metal bro it HAS to be loud! :P Thanks for listening dude!

Ermagawd what a treat! I've had this on my phone for years and I still listen sometimes. Definitely a massive upgrade. It's awesome to revisit old things to compare and see the progress you've made.
So tell us the story... What were the biggest shockers when you re-opened the old project? The biggest mistake you originally made that you now cringe at. :3

JDawg00100 responds:

Man to be honest I really wish I had the old project file to look at. Back when I made it originally I just kind of threw it all together and wasn't even too impressed by it. But a lot of the vibes and sounds I got before were completely lost to me. So not only did I have to relearn the song but I had to figure out what all made it the way it was before. So it actually took me twice as long to rerecord it than to write and record it back in the day. It's kinda crazy. One thing that I really had to take a second take on was some of drums and lead guitar work. They are really things I don't do anymore, so it was a little difficult to get that muscle memory back for some of the licks I used to use. If there is anything that I really wasn't too happy with on the original was the quality, I've thought I could do better for years now but I just now decided to give it a go. Anyways thanks for the review :D

You nailed the production on this. It's so full and artfully produced to bring out the best in each element. I recognise some of these samples from your previous work, including one of the NGADM songs you submitted a few years back. ^_^
Awesome as always!!! Just what I expect from you.

garlagan responds:

long time no see!
oh maybe it was Deflect? it's similar to that one, hence the name :p
thank you MR!!

It takes a while to get there but... that ending. *drool*

Ah man I've always loved this song. Never liked any of their other songs but this one was special AND it was in Resident Evil. Double win.
You guys nailed it! Great, GREAT guitars, full and heavy. The vocals are -sick- gosh. So much grit in that scream, amazing. She has a lovely tone too that shows her potential. (The start was lost because of the production.)

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Cheers for the listen and review, brother! I'm glad you dug it!! We're full on band with her, now and she's re doing a lot of my stuff, here, with her grit and voice and it's fucking killer!!

The beginning, (seek me part) was lower production to mimic the way KSE did it with "megaphone" effect...but that particular effect didn't work too well on a girls voice, for this song. So we just lowered the quality.

Thanks again, man. Very much appreciated, from a big hitter in metal, like you!!!

Awesome intro! So full of energy! It sets the song off so damn well.
I love harmonies in vocals and in lead guitar so it was a treat to listen to this.
You lost half a star because it's not particularly well produced but don't let that stop you. This is awesome stuff!!!!!!

Ritz190 responds:

thanks alot for the review! any pointers on how to better produce my work? I'd love some advice!

Drop C is definitely my favourite tuning, it's the only one I use, in fact. Some interesting riffs and it's mixed clearly. I can hear the bass chugging away at the bottom too. I enjoyed the harmonies. Mostly precise playing too although there were a couple of moments when it was -slightly- out.
Very heavy and could do with some metallica style vocals, a bit Seek and Destroy, a bit Master of Puppets at times.

TSRBand responds:

Thanks for the review! Glad you enjoyed it :)
