This is actually a theme I love to write for (and do so often). The idea that you're sad, writhing on the inside from torment but that you refuse to let the world get the better of you. You shared something beautiful and everything has an end, but you remember it for the good times and move on with a half-smile, to better times ahead.

I loved this piece. You have some serious talent my friend.

It actually means a lot to me that other musicians like you enjoy this song. This is a very personal piece to me, and really was written with a lot of raw emotion at the time, so it really makes me feel amazing that others appreciate and can relate to this.

Reminiscent of my favourite film of all time - Princess Mononoke (man I can listen to that soundtrack non-stop for hours and... Well Wolf-girl isn't too bad either.. Ahem I digress), I LOVE the pizzicato strings in this. Perfect setting for the woods.

It's funny, often people say "I bet you can't wait to get some professional sounding instruments" but I think the charm of this piece may be ruined if you changed the sounds too much, unless you really knew what you were doing and managed to keep that warm, rounded sound that it has now.

CainRedfield responds:

Thanks! I think a lot of that warm feeling you're getting is just the simple addition of a low frequency sine wave in the background of this track. Who'd have thought that some of the tricks I learnt from writing DnB and electronic style music could come in handy in orchestral pieces like this too.

The transition at 15 seconds was surprising, I didn't expect the intro to be over so soon but the funny thing is, you pulled it off, it was smooth and despite my expectation being shattered (sorry, I like being dramatic!) I was quickly brought back into the piece.
I love the arpeggio (or whatever it's called) the piano repeats, it's wonderful and made me feel really warm and fuzzy.
I think you did a really great job at around the 1:00 part where the higher piano notes come in, once again made me feel great.

Love what you did with this, keep it up!

CainRedfield responds:

So happy you liked it and found it unique! This is probably one of the longest periods of time I've spent on a piece before, and I'm really happy with how it came together :)
