Cool music but awesome trailer. XD

stunkel responds:

Thanks man :)

Erm I don't know how this happened but I haven't written a review on this track yet. I've been listening to it for ages, I love it.
I think the song has awesome rhythm guitar work with lots of energy, is generally well mixed and also you're a really good guitarist able to show off plenty of different styles of playing and techniques. You're not afraid to use them to keep your song varied.
The real strength of this song is in your melodies which you accentuated (quite rightly).

Excellent metal track, I love it and will continue to listen on the way to work in the morning from time to time.

JDawg00100 responds:

Oh wow, thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you like it enough to listen to it from time to time :D

Dem riffs. *drool*
Serious stuff man, keep it up.

For the meagre tools you have this is a charming piece of music. I can tell you have already got all the base knowledge you'd need to be good at this (i.e. you already know how to write music). All we need to do now is sort you out with gear that sounds good and get you learning how to do the other half aka mixing and music production. I've followed you so I'll hear things you upload later on and give you feedback when I have time, try and point you towards new things to try etc.

P.S. For some reason Chris's scout didn't work (a glitch most likely) so I scouted you too just in case. :)
This means your music will become visible on the site over all. It's like a little badge of honour to say welcome.

Sounds awesome! I wish I could understand the lyrics, I don't think I got a single word in the whole thing. :(
Well mixed, great melodies and over all just a good song.

steampianist responds:

haha yeah i guess i shouldve provided the lyrics

A really nice piece, it has definite emotional depth thanks to the different layers - sometimes just high notes, sometimes all the part together etc. The piano is lovely too.
Though... it doesn't need to be so drowned in reverb to achieve this, that just makes it harder to understand.

DanJohansen responds:

Glad you enjoyed it, the reverb was a self-preference kind of choice I will admit, and also the want of doing something different as a composer, I've used Piano in a lot of my classical pieces and never had this much reverb, I thought it was both interesting and sounded sweet, I can understand if someone doesn't prefer it though.

Thanks for the review!

What nightmares are made of...

Where have you been, buddy? I miss hearing your awesome voice and great story-telling.

Big-Cronk responds:

Took a job on the north slope for a few more months so Im nowhere near my equipment haha its driving me crazy and the internet sucks here

I can always count on you for unusual music, that's for sure. You nailed the feeling/atmosphere and I believe it suits your style in general anyway.
I think the voice could have been given more depth in the mix considering there were now lower instruments to take up that part of the spectrum - it would have given the song more depth.

Love it! Did you mix this? The piano is wide and lush. The synth bouncing around fits perfectly melodically speaking and in the mix. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of the song with all the vocals!

Troisnyx responds:

I did, thus far. The fine-tuning and noise removal haven't been done yet, and neither is this piece done. But I'm really looking forward to finishing it. ^_^ Glad you like it!
