Long term musical goals.

Posted by MetalRenard - May 1st, 2014

Do you have long term goals? I'm not the kind to set myself specific goals because, although I work really well under pressure, I prefer the laid-back approach if I can afford it.

Despite that, about three years ago I set my heart on being able to sing, (because I like an impossible challenge). I can remember it quite well, I was watching that Tarzan film by Disney with the soundtrack and vocals by Phil Collins and I found myself singing along (very badly, couldn't hit all the notes, either). I sounded like I had a sock in my mouth, too.

Today, my goal is still the same, to be able to sing well and to be comfortable with my voice as an instrument. I'm still not there but I like to think I'm making progress. And It's made me realise that if you really want something and try hard enough to get it, there's a good chance you'll one day be standing there with a big, stupid grin on your face because someone told you your voice reminded them of Corey Taylor from Slipknot (when he's not shouting down the mic/murdering childrens' innocent minds).

I've heard you sing before and it came out real well.
I think you can be good at singing and combine it with your music for an excellent touch.
I'm hoping you stay positive and don't give up! Looking forward to new music from you!

Thanks man. I think my next-next goal is piano... Not sure when I can do that though, I don't have the space for a keyboard. ^_^
